Ms. Cummins, a Tampa native, graduated from the University of Central Florida.

After graduation, Ms. Nielsen attended Stetson University College of Law. While a student, Ms. Nielsen served as a judicial law clerk for a family law judge in the sixth judicial circuit.  It was Monica's role as a judicial law clerk which  quickly created her impassioned focus on child welfare,  centering her attention on the psychological impact of high conflict divorce upon children.

Ms. Nielsen's empirical studies and research resulted in her recent 2018 publication, titled, "The Pair of ACES," a guide written for parents, judges, and attorneys, that illuminates Adverse Childhood Experiences "ACES." Ms. Nielsen's publication is  currently being utilized by local judges in the Tampa Bay Area, as well as in ACE's seminars.

Prior to joining Prescott Legal, Monica was employed by the Office of Attorney General, for the Child Support Enforcement Bureau. There, Monica's cornerstone was handling matters relative to the enforcement and calculation of child support.
