Mrs. Teresa O. Prescott founded Prescott Legal in 2017 with the goal to introduce a a principled approach to the practice of Family Law. She set out to create a model built on a modern, transparent, and compassionate method of practice.

Prescott, a Cuban-American, attended Stetson University College of Law where she was recognized as an Oral Argument winner. As a student, Mrs. Prescott served as an associate in the Center for Excellence, where she was one of four students selected to complete a Fellowship in Higher Education Law and Policy.

Throughout her fellowship, Mrs. Prescott dedicated herself to the interdisciplinary study of federal and state policy, with an emphasis in Title IX and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

Mrs. Prescott joined a boutique firm in early 2016. While there, she focused primarily on Divorce Law, Cohabitation, Special Needs Children, High-Conflict, Emotionally-Sensitive Family Law issues, trial advocacy, and appeals. In 2017 Prescott left to open her own legal practice built on a new and principled approach to practicing Family Law. Mrs. Prescott continues to focus on high-conflict divorce, cohabitation, and custody disputes, specializing in parental alienation, pathogenic parenting syndrome and borderline/narcissistic personality disorders. Mrs. Prescott is known as a strategist and skilled litigator, and as a result, has litigated in over 13 counties throughout the state of Florida, extending from Sumter County to Miami-Dade. Mrs. Prescott has also assisted international counsel in Greece and Israel.

Mrs. Prescott believes that education is a vital part of the community, and maintains her close connections with Stetson Law, where she served as an adjunct professor in a skills course. During her off time, Mrs. Prescott tutors children in local schools throughout Hernando, Pasco, and Hillsborough County and serves on the 5k pro bono committee of her local bar association. There, her focus is to help raise and encourage attorneys to participate and provide pro bono services. Mrs. Prescott was individually recognized by Chief Justice Charles. T. Canady for her commitment to service, and Prescott Legal, as a firm, has been awarded the "Outstanding Pro bono service by a Law Firm" given by the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. By working with the community to promote and improve its education and legal systems, Mrs. Prescott takes great pride in the fact that she is able to give back to the community that has given her so much.
